Chapter 10: The Meeting at the Top of the Sky

Hidden behind the thick moss-covered stone wall, Willity, Sixsevenin, and little Deri hardly dared to breathe. In front of them, at the top of the great stepped pyramid, the mysterious blue light continued to pierce the night sky of S7, illuminating a group of figures repeating that strange yet familiar greeting: palms facing upward, gently moving up and down to the rhythm of the words "Six Seven."

—Should we go up? —whispered Willity, his eyes shining with excitement.

Sixsevenin nodded silently, adjusting his orange robe. But before either of them could take a step, Deri let out a soft "Miiiauu!" and dashed upward, gliding over the broken steps with the help of his membranes. There was no turning back.

When they reached the upper platform, the blue light surrounded them completely. It did not burn. Instead, it gave off a warm vibration, almost as if it were examining them. The figures turned toward them all at once. To the newcomers' surprise, the group consisted of two Nimbis they had never seen before and a Sixevenian wearing a traditional robe of soft sky blue.

The meeting at the top of the sky
Willity, Sixevenín, and Deri discover they are not alone. Alongside the blue light and the seven moons of S7, they meet Iris, Jazzi, and Ramsi, travelers who have arrived from unknown regions of the planet.

For a few moments, nobody moved. The silence was so deep that it almost seemed possible to hear the seven moons turning across the sky. Then the smaller Nimbi stepped forward. She was tiny, pink in color, and a little shorter than Willity, but her eyes sparkled with endless energy. She carried a small crystal branch in one hand. With remarkable agility, she leaped forward, gently struck one of the pyramid's echoing stones, and began to play a beautiful melody—clear, light, and floating through the air.

As soon as the melody began, the stones across the plain seemed to answer with a harmonious echo. The little Nimbi smiled proudly, stretched her hands forward with her palms facing upward, and began moving them gently in perfect rhythm with the music.

Willity and Sixsevenin looked at one another in amazement. At the same time, the gesture felt incredibly familiar. Without hesitation, they copied the movement.

—It is the Peace Greeting of S7, —said the Sixevenian in the sky-blue robe with a calm and gentle voice.— An ancient code stored in our systems and in the memory of the planet. My name is Iris.

—And I'm Yazzi, —said the musical little Nimbi, pausing her tune for a moment with a playful sparkle in her eyes.— And this big serious fellow here is Ramsi. He walks a little slowly, but he has an excellent sense of direction and knows every map.

He was the largest Nimbi Willity had ever seen. His skin was reddish-brown, like clay, and he wore an explorer's backpack. Ramsi greeted them with a respectful nod, which his new friends immediately returned.

—We've spent many cycles traveling in secret from the far side of S7, —he said, looking at Willity with curiosity.— We thought our region was the only one still alive.

—The far side? —asked Sixsevenin, opening his sensors wide.— But our maps say there's nothing beyond the northern mountains. Our system doesn't show any land beyond them.

Iris smiled calmly.

—Sometimes systems forget what they no longer need to see. Planet S7 is much larger than your cities—and our archives—suggest. There is an entire hidden world.

—We saw this light from very far away and felt that we had to come, —Yazzi added excitedly.— We didn't know why, but it was as if it were calling directly to us.

Willity looked once again at the great column of blue light rising from the ground. A wave of emotion filled him. It was not a coincidence. The mysterious light had not appeared to destroy. It had awakened like a beacon, calling together the only beings brave enough to journey into the unknown.

Just then, they heard a soft grinding sound beneath their feet. They watched as a huge stone slab in the platform slowly began to move. The heavy stone slid aside, revealing a dark entrance leading deep into the heart of the pyramid. Their first reaction was to look at one another in surprise.

—It didn't call us here just to stand and look at the sky, —said Ramsi at once.— It called us here so we could explore together.

The descent into the secret tunnels
The blue light had served its purpose. Now the travelers had to leave the sky of S7 behind and venture into the mysterious hidden tunnels of the great pyramid.

Ramsi tightened the straps of his backpack and bravely started down the first steps. Iris stepped forward without the slightest hesitation and followed him. Next came little Deri, followed by Yazzi, who held her crystal branch tightly, ready for whatever lay ahead. Willity and Sixsevenin were the last to enter. They exchanged an excited smile before following their new friends into the depths of the pyramid.

A gigantic underground adventure through the secret tunnels of S7 was about to begin beneath their feet.
